This blog died in May 2007.
That was the last post that had to do with the initial intention of this log. After May 2007 I broke the first rule of only publish experimental work.
So I’m starting a new blog, with the promise of ONLY work and publish experimental shit.
This was another cool project I did at Nervo…
I’ve worked on this project since the first concept and then ended up developing the entire spot… so was a pretty good experience.
We had the opportunity to use motion capture data (thanks for nike labs) for retargeting into our 3d rig using Softimage XSI.
This piece was pretty fun to do and I like a lot how it turned out. 🙂
A few frames… and the link for the mov http://nervo.tv/index.html?sect=5&proj=nikeplus
This is a preview render for the Fox project we did here at Nervo… this is just the bird directly from 3d, without any composition or whatever.
This was all done in Softimage XSI… modeling, shading lighting, animation, rendering…
This is a preview test.. not the final. You can watch the final here http://nervo.tv/index.html?sect=5&proj=foxmovies
Since past july I’ve been working with Nando Costa for his design and animation studio based in Portland, Oregon.
So I hope you enjoy our work! www.nervo.tv

…I’ve moved to the US.
Since 17 july I’ve been living in Portland, Oregon. And nothing else could be more awesome than that!
I’ve met this great artist and teacher: http://www.renatoalarcao.com.br
I can see how much I’ve improved my 3d modeling techinques after I started to draw and paint.
Today I can feel more objective during the modeling process… And I’m happy that I’m more comfortable in both enviroments – 2d and 3d.

A quick drawing from life which I’ve decided to paint.
Here’s some photo I take from the RedBull Air Race event, which happened here in Botafogo bay.
It was crazy to watch how fast and close to the water that pilots can fly.
This is a concept I’m working on… I’m managing to reproduce it in 3d… Soon I can post something here.
This one is very different from my usual studies.
It was done quickly… quite careless
